Greetings everyone!!

I have been lurking around the forums for a while now,  and decided it is finally time to join!

A year ago I bought a 99 Astro in great condition,  considering it was from northern Indiana.  I once was told Indiana kills cars,  it is true!!  Damn that lake effect snow!

I decided it is finally time for something new. I can't stand living in little boxes on the hillside made of ticky tacky anymore! Don't get me started on winter!!
I'm only 28, but it seems that this is the best thing for me to do at this time. I want to have adventures,  and explore! I have nothing holding me back or keeping me here.

I ripped everything out of the van,  and rebuilt it into an awesome camper! Huge water tank,  solar power, running water,  and propane stove, I can't wait!
I don't know where my first destination will be,  but I will definitely be joining the RTR next January!
I was thinking of Florida then out west,  but I'm not decided yet.

Anyway,  glad to be here.  I've learned tons,  and can't wait to meet some of you next year! :D

Welcome in from the shadows.
Of course you'll be posting pics of your rig ???

Going anywhere warm from anywhere else that's cold is always a big one in my book !
Welcome also to life on the road....

Welcome, HereWeGo!

You are taking a gutsy leap of faith, but I can't imagine you'll regret it.. .you'll have memories that are great, good and bad... but like no ordinary life.

Welcome, and congratulations on joining herewego !  :D

Just by way of suggestion,  you may want to take a few week end "shake down" outings before jumping into the  deep end of the pool.  LOL

Take a spiral ringed note book and keep notes on things you wish you had brought along. What you brought that you really didn't need.

If you aren't really sure where you want to go yet,  check out some of the larger Public Libraries as you travel.

Fodor's publishes loads of travel books that detail places to see and things to do.

Fodor's  Travel USA website

Look for magazines like "TRAVEL" and "Vacations",  to get ideas for your adventures.  From that you can
plan an itinerary of things to see and do along the way.   You'll feel like "The King of the Road" in no time.

Welcome to the CRVL forums herewego! Your van will a big hit at the "show and tell open house day" at the RTR. It's always interesting to see everyone's build. See you at the RTR!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Contact Mr Loo Reed He set up a Florida gathering last year and it was great.

Thanks for the tips! I will check out that page.
I have always,  since leaving for college the day after I graduated H. S.,  just dived into everything without fear. I've never regretted it,  and I like the excitement and have no fear making drastic changes.

Challenges and changes are what keep me going!

I've spent a while getting rid of crap i don't need, over and over. I think I'm at a decent minimum. My only problem now is finding space for all of my tools!  I've never taken any vehicle to a shop,  or called a plumber,  electrician,  or anything.  The most fun is in figuring out and fixing stuff without"expert" help!
Thanks to the internet, I can be the expert!
