Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

I just heard about this forum on Bob's Live Feed today. I'm in the process of working on my minivan. Planning my move in about a year.  :)

I'm a somewhat senior adult male (59) stuck in a position that I thought I would never be in. Although it is helpful to the ones that I'm living with (ie:parents), this was not at all what I had imagined for myself. A turn of unfortunate events that started in 2005. If I'm not mistaken, at the time I had to move back home, the Census Bureau labeled people like myself as homeless. I honestly never considered myself homeless. I just could not see myself being able to afford living with the high rent the way it was at the time. So, I stayed with family, which I'm glad I did, to help out as much as I can since my parents are up in years. But the time has come that I move on. I am constantly feeling that I have more to do, more to see, and much more to offer then setting and wasting away as it were. So, hince the move to vanlife.  :D

Hey Mary, nice to meet you.

Yeah Vision I hear that story, makes perfect sense if you can move on somewhat without the burden of insane rent or land costs It makes perfect sense. I read a while back that one of the Waltons (or another billionaire) did the same thing for a while and that's why they (initially) put the RV's and Vans overnight welcome. Rent and just funding a place to stay is just outrageous that you can't pay other bills.

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

There is plenty of stuff to interest you here too.

Below in the signature lines are a couple of sites you may want to take a look at.  One for converting a Van (really basic) and the other is a portal
that can be used for planning a journey (even using it for virtual traveling) or if you are out in a rig of some kind.....to use while on the road.
The information will make life more comfortable, and convenient while eliminating a lot of the stress of uncertainty when in unfamiliar surroundings.

All the best !
