I made a lot of progress today and I'm pleased with ALL the results. Put the new fuel tank in and replaced the transmission pan gasket.
I'm still waiting on the oil pan gasket. Thought it would be here today for install tomorrow, but there is always other work i can do.
Looking forward to living Full Time on the road.

Looks like a good solid 1980-86 F250...but i hope you give it a bath, and have an "after" picture.

Does that have the 351M V8 ?

I'm planning on having it pressure washed for the next pics after the repairs are complete.
This 1981 had a V-8 originally however, the previous owner removed it (probably due to fuel prices) and installed an 1980 straight 6 cyl .
wont have the v-8 power but i'm NOT planning on too many monster hills.

There is always low gear for hills (use your flashers under about 50 MPH as you keep slowing down). You don't want to be a hazard. You won't win any races but you should get there.

I had a 1980 F150 with the 300 I6, and loved it. Lots of low end torque, and dead nuts reliable. Right now, I have a 1996 f150 with that motor, and have no plans of ever selling it.

You may find yourself very happily surprised with that engine.
1/4 mile scorcher it isn't, but a hill pulling torque happy machine it is! :)

Too bad you don't have a clutch pedal and a 5 speed behind it.
It loses some in the slush converter...but still is going to likely impress.
That is a really really good Ford era.
Love to see pics of the whole thing.

IMG_20190421_161733.jpgIMG_20190421_161518.jpgGot a lot of productive repairs done on the forward sleeper today and hope to complete that area tomorrow with the possible exception of calk around the windows which needs to be a complete job. I'll also have to work out some new cushions or have the original cushions cleaned.  :-/

when you say caulk around the windows I hope you mean new butyl tape. just caulking them is not the right way, especially if you use silicone. highdesertranger
