Some parts stores own their own building and parking lot, some lease both from someone else.  The building's owner may be hundreds of miles away, or he may own another business in the same parking lot so he's right there all day.

I have used probably hundreds of pounds of Perma Gum, (I did refrigeration for many years). It will not do well with heat, water or any kind of pressure. It is made for sealing off air holes. like where a pipe runs through a wall.

It has been a few days now, is it fixed?

I have made it back to Orlando. I should be fixing it in  the morning. I ran with the cap loose and at night stopping whenever the gauge got over 3/4. Thanks for the great tips everyone.

Well done .
Your first road adventure in the new rig !
Now , you're due at least 3 or 4 without any problems............

If the water pump rotted out, I would check the freeze plugs as well. Some of them are easy to get to. On my engine I had to pull the tranny to get the leaking rear engine freeze plugs replaced.

Yeah, been thinking about that. Might as well get them, but it has been raining it's butt off all day. SO only did the pump for now.
