I recently upgraded my system the past couple weeks. I had 2x150w and a 100w renogy panel. In had 3 dekka marine master batteries. I am blown away by my mppt charger controller. I had a sunforce pwm controller before this. It got the job done but Now my batteries are charged up by 11 am lol. And I have 4 100ah mighty max batteries now. I was going to add 2 50w panels on the front of the van Hi top area where the slant is But I'm not sure I need too. I run my fridge on high.fans on high. Play on my laptop all night. And the 400w charges the batteries right back up by noon time. Before I was lucky if I got a full charge by dusk. I guess ill add the 50 watters anyway for cloudy days but I am just so impressed with this charge controller. I drive a 93 Chevy g20 coachman by the way

Congrats on the excellent improvements in charge time via simply changing controllers.

P.S. Thanks for sharing.

Doubtful; when depleted, it takes 5 hours minimum to get to true 100% Full, and that's with max amps available.

How are you judging Full?

I doubled my panels last year to 2400w and added 2 mppt controllers (2 systems) I haven't run my gen since.

I don't deplete them the whole way now. I upgraded the battery bank. Before I would go down to about 12.2v and cut my computer off at that point. So I had reserve power to run my fridge the rest of the night. I just ordered the mt-50 for renogy controllers so I dont have that data. But the light indicators for fully charged go off around noon everyday now. It always stays in the green.

That is awesome. Can you run AC?

Of course. By depleted I meant between say 30-40%, 50% should be the lowest, less frequently the better.

If you only draw down to say 80-90% then you can get back to Full in 3-4 hours, maybe.

Note this is true even with a charge source making 300A available, lead banks just can't accept much as they get closer to full.

Yes those are very inaccurate indicators.

The remote should help, but I would pick up a $40-80 clamp ammeter to independently verify, any charge source.

After talking to you on here I'm going to stop putting it off and get one lol

I live 1/4 mile from the ocean, don't need AC, But I think I could.

Replaced the mppt controller with a pwm renogy viewstar today. Batteries are 12.5. I don't understand the soc screen either. Will say 37% but battery will be full. I think batteries are ****

Maybe, but even $500 SCs readouts can't be trusted, need your own V and A meter(s).
