I don,t usually share, but i guess i will. Some personal observations about my new life. I started full timing 2 weeks ago, and ive found that since i started trailer living im much more in touch with myself, Dutch ( my dog)  and others around me. In general it feels like a giant weight is now gone.... im beginning to see things as they really are. Re-connecting with nature and the earth, simple things are still valid.

I so yearn for the day when I can have this giant weight lifted off me all the way. I still have some time left before I can full time. So glad to hear that you are enjoying your experiences. HuggZ

Oldsoul, that's awesome! <br /><br />Mortisha, i can't wait either! For now am settling on Calgon to take me away, at least for tonight!

oldsoul,&nbsp; congrat's on your new lifestyle!<br /><br />I hope to be doing the same thing sometime next year. I'm a camper at heart so I can't wait till I'm doing the same thing.

I've been doing it for about 2 months now. I'm still tied to my area, but hoping to be totally free soon, and hit the road.

Everytime I go over the Tappen Zee&nbsp;Bridge -- my blood pressure drops 10 points - it would be more - but I always have to go back ---- "One of these days Alice -- one of these days" <img src="/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif" alt="" align="absMiddle" border="0" />

Oldsoul, I am so glad you are reaping the benefits of this life... It took me about six months for me to fully reap the benefits of this life and drop all the remnants of what I call the Matrix... Pushing on two years of freedom I am happier now than I have ever been in my entire life...<br /><br />

new life reminds of the simpsons quote.&nbsp; Homer thinks the only way to escape society completely (because he did something very wrong) <br /><br />

I wasn't exactly sure where to post this quote I found, but it fits so many of us and the reason we do what we do.<br /><br /><div>"The galleries are full of critics.</div><div>They play no ball, they fight no fights.</div><div>They make no mistakes because they attempt nothing.</div><div>Down in the arena are the doers.</div><div>They make mistakes because they try many things.</div><div>The man who makes no mistakes</div><div>lacks boldness and the spirit of adventure.</div><div>He is the one who never tries anything.</div><div>His is the brake on the wheel of progress.</div><div>And yet it cannot be truly said he makes no mistakes,</div><div>because his biggest mistake</div><div>is the very fact that he tries nothing,</div><div>does nothing, except criticize those who do things."</div><div>David M. Shoup</div><div><br />Dogman</div>

<br />Ricekilla, i have a friend who (still) drives an 18 wheeler. He was telling me he paid right at $100 to cross the Tappen z bridge. Could this be right?

<br />it's 12.50 per axle one way, I think, or 6.50 each way....&nbsp;

I decided on this life, because i want some personal freedom. I feel a strong pull to disconnect from all "Conventional" life, whatever that is, lol. Im tired. Tired of basic life costing so much in money and in my time. I want both back.I like the idea of being in control of my own ship, the captain at the rudder so to speak.Theirs too many rules, too many control devices, etc. Why did my family fight in 2 world wars , korea etc if we are not free to create our own life and make all our own decisions? I just took a real hard look at myself, and my life and realized i wasn,t on the path i want to be on. Bully for anyone who takes contol of their own destiny. You have my utmost respect and admiration for whatever its worth. Peace.

<br /><br />You can call me gary -- or just plain rice <img src="/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif" alt="" align="absMiddle" border="0" /><br /><br />I've only crossed with jeeps&nbsp;and motorcycle's --- I would think with multiple axles and hazmat stuff - gas / propane / dynamite or nuclear waist - it could be higher ?
