Hello all, hope all is well in your parts of the world. I used a Mr buddy heater to warm up a van in the past. Has anyone done this in the back of a.pick up.with shell on top? Thanks!

The Buddy (by Mr. Heater) should work fine.  Plenty of ventilation.  Do you plan any insulation?
I am currently seeing the one pound cylinders not lasting their rated length of run time.  So figure five hours per rather than the rated eight.  Big Buddy (two cylinders) has been running ten hours instead of the rated sixteen on Low.  Coleman cylinders apparently are being underfilled before retail sale.  Might need to try other brands.

Leerevell,
thank u for confirmation. I have learned to ask others who have done it, with ventilation should be fine. Yes, going to start on the insulation next. Need to go read that forum before I start. Good info on the cylinders, thanks!

Went to your blog, I sure need it! Not quite a poor grammer when on the iPad and off the phone :)

I may go and check some stores nearby...That would be sad, a high name cheating the camping public.

Re the Coleman cylinders, I guess the question is, how are they labeled?  Does the Label SAY it has one lb?  Could you find an old one and compare how IT'S labeled?

If they are marking them as one weight, and actually putting less in them, they will have a hell of a problem with various government regulators . . .

Until fairly recently, I would get a solid seven and a half hours runtime on LOW using the Portable Buddy (once called the Buddy Jr.).  Now I get five hours on one tank.  That is a major discrepancy, and means I cannot go the night long without getting up to change tanks on the Portable Buddy.  Being an 'Old Dog', I do not handle unannounced change well.   I thought maybe the PB was getting inaccurate on it's metering, but the same happens with the two Big Buddies.  Has only begun recently with Coleman one pound tanks from one store.  I need to check other sources, and other brands.  This increased gas usage means a significant increase in expense.
