Moving West and RV Shopping!

Hi all,<br /><br />I am a 26 yo guy about to make the pretty dramatic lifestyle change that many of you have already made. &nbsp;I got a job at a non-profit in San Francisco. &nbsp;Due to housing costs in the area and my own wonderlust, I am very seriously considering moving into an RV for the 2-3 years that I will be in the city.<br /><br />I think that RV living is a perfect way for me to save some money in the city, and be about to travel around CA on the weekends.<br /><br />Some questions that I am on here to try to find answers to:<br /><br />What is the best rig for me? (thinking about 21', want a standup shower, prefer diesel, costs 5k-10k, stealthier the better)<br /><br />How much should I budget for; insurance, maintinance, gas, parking tickets?<br /><br />How can i get over the fear of being hassled by the police late at night? what is the most likely scenario, what is the worst case?<br /><br />How can I establish a homebase in the city? can I find private property to park on with permission? where is the closest public land that I can park on without fear of being hassled.<br /><br />Thanks so much! I don't suppose you could find a Sprinter for $10K? Stealthy, diesel, 20mpg, stand up shower, 19 feet long...

The sprinter is awesome. &nbsp;looks like i would need a loan to make that happen. &nbsp;could be worth it. &nbsp;super cool vehicle.&nbsp;<br /><br /><br /><br />
