Love the idea of that mini kitchen center. It's all electric though, and I couldn't find any specs on it.
About permits for those tiny houses, as long as they are not permanent structures you shouldn't need any permits. Don't fall into that trap because they are sure willing to take your money. Not to mention, they will figure out a category for you if you let them.
-Bruce

Today, when faced with a mountain of dirty dishes, I thought to myself, "I don't need most of this. Soon I'll be on the road and have no room for it anyway." So I tossed much of it in the garbage right then and there. Afterwards the small pile of dishes didn't seem like such a large chore.

Even in a house with two kids, years ago, I figured out the dishes thing - when I got tired of dealing with mountains of dirty dishes. If you don't own a mountain of dishes, you won't have a mountain to wash. All you need is one of each for each person and a couple of extras for the occasional neighbor/guest. Make everyone responsible for their own dishes and no one is allowed to use someone else's dishes. You can even get a different colour set for each person so there can be no sneaking. They want a clean plate, they hunt their's down and wash it...ditto for cups/glasses and flatware.

I took the rest away and packed them into cases in the basement where they couldn't find them.

I like the way you think Sheryl.
-Bruce

Thank you Bruce :)
I think it's better for the family members to become self sufficient as early as possible, and MUCH easier on the mom!

I had the idea to make anyone caught using a dish belonging to someone else, pay that person for using their dish. A small amount, like .50 dish rental. I never had to go that far with it. There were only four of us. If I had had a large family, that would definitely be in effect.

Sometimes the dishes were all clean and we were in a "wash it as you use it" mode, sometimes we were in a "wash it as you need it" mode. If you can let go of the need to control the kitchen and let everyone do their own thing in there, it works quite well.

YUP Sheryl, That method of dish cleaning and keeping works well. I have been using that method for years now, and never have a pile of dirty dishes. To use them and allow them to pile up unwashed is insane. I never have a dirty pile of dishes to worry about.
-Bruce
