It is discussed in a recent BBC article, ""How I rewired my brain in six weeks."
I feel reasonably comfortable recommending it without trying it myself because it was created (or at least recommended) by a university professor and written about approvingly by a science journalist. I read the article, and it certainly sounded good to me -- no hype or outrageous claims. But obviously, neither of those are guarantees of anything so use your own judgment.
The article explains how a mindfulness practice can be good for you (manage stress, ward off cognitive decline, etc.).
