The thermometer anyway. From freezing cold temps to near 90 days already, its not even summer yet.

I grunted it out last summer, and i thought i would be ok. Maybe its just lack of acclimation time but im having a rough time sleeping. Yesterday was pretty unbearable, humid as heck too. I think i retwisted my back tossing and turning, even worse :(

I wish some egghead would just invent energy efficient A/C already :(

Sorry just felt like ranting i guess. Maybe a third fan would help.

I don't know where you are but I can sympathize being in Texas with the humidity we have here. Not getting sleep is no fun.

If you have a way to keep a little ice, maybe you can put some in a ziplock and make an ice pack. It may help you get to sleep at least.:-/

I'm on the other side of Texas where there is NO humidity at all. :( Really sucks that everything you touch is electrified.

Fortunately, it was freezing temps on this side this morning... So it's all good. 8) (but I will be close to the 100's by the weekend...)

Was pretty hot here too. Luckily, between my skookum solar fan setup and half decent insulation, it stayed pretty cool inside. ..Willy.

Tucson has been really nice while we've been here. It made it into the mid 90s a couple times, but nights have been very pleasant....in fact, we've had to pull the blanket over us in the wee hours.
It was nice down at Bisbee and Tombstone too.

BUT....we expect to be up around 100 this weekend.
We're off to Flagstaff soon as I get the floor down and the bed built. Should be outta here in 3-4 days with the help I've got. (I'm providing burgers & beer).
Flag will be cooler and easier for me to get more done on the van.

Anyone wanna join us in Flagstaff for an impromptu gathering???

Jay, there is a fairly large group of vandwellers in Sedona now waiting for Flagstaff to warm-up. Some went to Flagg with us a month ago and couldn't handle the cold and went back to Sedona. It'll be too hot their soon so they will go back to Flagg.

I'm not sure they are on the forum though. I can send them your email if you want.

That just goes to show the beauty of living in a place where there is so much elevation gain in such a small distance. Sedona and Flaggstaff are about 30 miles apart but almost 4000 feet different in elevation.

This idea is one of my favorites --
aquarium pump, circulating water through a copper tube that is coiled around the front of a fan -- natural cooling

It's starting to get uncomfortable in the LA-Ventura area. I just started heading up the coast today toward Oregon. After living in Alaska for years, anything over 80° is hot to me.

I,ll just wait till an hour or so before bed....Fire the A/C up to drag the temp down around 50...Turn on the little fan and Nite- Nite!!.......it will stay cool in here for about 6 hours before I will wake up and do it again if needed!

I saved this a while back, because one of the links was very similar to my setup:

12v air conditioners are the answer, they use little juice, and can freeze you out.

isnt that just a swamp cooler? its very humid here :\

No, this is not a swamp cooler, it does not add moisture to the air at all.

I spent 30 years driving cross country truck, and these were the only type that truck drivers could find that would work anywhere in the country, including the humid area's.

Many of the SW drivers used swampy's, but they would turn a cab into a sweat box in the more humid area's. These work beautifully.
