So how much money can someone make off a daily blog? If you get 1000 readers and it's a daily blog. What is typical? $20 a month? $100?

I have another site that generates only 1500 visitors a day and averages just under $100 per month off a single google ad.

"visitors a day" is tricky--so many of these visitors are either search robots, or people who visited the site by mistake (it turns up on a search but you instantly see it is not at all relevant to what you want).

^ but hey, as long as you get hits, you get paid.

$1200 a year. Not a bad extra. Pays the cellphone.

I used to make about $1000 a month from several blogs, a little bit from Google Adsense and mostly by recommendations to products on Amazon or other places. Then several years ago Amazon and Colorado had a squabble and Amazon cut off us affiliates. Later, Google decided it didn't like affiliate sites so much and downgraded all of mine in its rankings, so the traffic to them plummeted. I probably make about $40 a month from them now, am putting my energies into writing books.

You have to puke out so much interesting content its not worth it :p Well, unless you have a lot of interesting things to say..

I don't think it's so much interesting content as it is useful content. Well written writing can make wiping your bum seem interesting--if you're good at writing, you'll be good at making money writing.

As the Joker says, if you're good at something, never do it for free. ;)

Id like to know the revenue of say, a how -to or informative blog vs a youtube channel (traffic being comparable) of the same content. I know there are quite a few how-to and gamer youtubes that can actual make a living off their channels. Of course the market is very saturated.

Man, them youtube gamers could make a living for thousands of people. Check out PewDiePie on Youtube--he banks like 40,000 to 50,000 a DAY. Millions per YEAR. It's insane how much video games can get you these days. And trust me, he's not a very good gamer! He's only been doing it for 4 years.

Just based on traffic alone, Youtube will be a much larger earner than a blog. I've done a lot of research into this. If you feel brave, you can advertise your channel in some cities by printing QC codes on a sticker and pasting them in legal spots (like street lamp corners, power poles, etc) in populated areas. Buddy of mine did that and doubled his traffic!
