I know there are always a lot of questions about the best vehicle (vans in our case) manufactures and the various motors that are the most dependable. Makes sense since if you are reading this, odds are your van is probably very important to you. I consider myself a car guy and a shade tree wanna be mechanic. As such I watch a lot of cars shows on TV and read about them online. One thing I have noticed is that a lot of the true car guys that either buy or build true six figure customs seem to really like the LS series of engines from Chevy. They say they are almost bullet proof, super easy to get parts/accessories and are reasonable in price when bought as a new crate engine. So I guess my question...would most standard/full sized Chevy vans fit an LS engine? I would think it would be like a Chevy pick up truck and as I understand, LS engines can be put in them fairly easy.

LS engines can be put in almost anything. If it was me and I wanted that engine I would buy an Express van. They are everywhere and reasonably priced. In late 07 the Silverados got the flex fuel engines. Not nearly as durable as the early LS units. Cylinder deactivation caused oil consumption issues. And the engines are basically worn out around 150k. Not sure when the vans got the flex fuel but my advise is to avoid those.
