Cooling is a hassle with the mobile lifestyle. I started out with an old Norcold 1.7 LP/110V frig I bought from a guy for $50. The LP didn't work. After cleaning out the lines and orifice it worked again and I used it for about 6 months. The level issue is a pain. Heat generated in summer months is a pain too. I sold it and bought a tall narrow Norcold frig/freezer combo made for a semi truck sleeper; strictly 12V. I've got mixed feelings about it too. Right now I'm struggling to find a place in my van for my frig; even after having it in my van for 9 months or so. I've moved it twice and still don't like the location.
I never use a frig in the winter time; don't need it. Boots are froze to the floor nearly every morning the way it is.

gus

My mistake.. yup, my Waeco WILL draw 7 amps (at the full power setting, though this can be lowered), but it's for, like, 5 minutes.. so the overall power draw is rather low. Maybe, if it's blazing hot inside, it might hit a 25% duty cycle or something, but still a low power draw. ..Willy.

In my old airstream I used pieces of 2 x 6 and stack using the trailer stands for the other level NEVER HAD AN ISSUE 5% is a fairly steep lean.
