I spoke briefly to a South Lake Tahoe city office worker about parking an RV on your own property in South Lake Tahoe
She quickly responded you can't live in an RV on your own property

I am probably going to inherit an apartment complex up there and I think I will manage it but I prefer my home to be mobile so I can get away from people knocking on the door all the time so I can rent all the units
Can I live in a Stealth RV on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe or somewhere close to South Lake  Tahoe ?

Thanks

Stealth parking at apartment complexes, even better if you can call yourself the night watch or security manager. It is not uncommon for apartment managers or security to get a site included with their pay. You might need to get the site setup permitted by local authorities.  -crofter

If you own the property just put a high fence around a secure space just for you. Who are then tenants going to complain to about it :)

It's a very small complex maybe 7 to 10 units so it would be hard to hide in a corner
I wonder how I would go about getting a permit for night watchman for something so small

Ever hear it is sometimes better to ask for forgiveness than permission?
Many places do not allow rv's to be used for a permanent dwelling. That is not to say that in those same areas there are no people that do.
I believe there is National forest land there that does allow disbursed camping, there are probably also casinos and other places where you could rotate your sleeping spots.
If push came to shove, you could also rent a room to use as a backup.

Quite often you can "stay" (not "live") in a trailer/rv while in the process (loooong planning can be part of the process) of doing some rehab (painting?, yard work?, emptying trash cans......) work.

Thanks Guys
Both the camping area and casino ideas are definitely worth looking into I think
Danny can you explain what you mean by "disbursed camping" I have not heard that term before

I wonder if anyone on this forum stealth camps in the Tahoe area and can tell me if they use the national forest camping areas and casinos for sleeping and living

I looked up disbursed camping and that seems like a good idea

"dispersed camping" is spread out over a wide area. Not restricted to developed sites.

"disburse" is to pay out funds.

I spose that a camp host job where one receives funds as well as a site, is "disbursed" camping.

Fortunately search engines are accommodating.
DuckDuckGo says:
Including results for dispersed camping.
Search only for "disbursed" camping?

But then the BLM has:
Little Mountain Disbursed Camp
https://www.blm.gov/visit/search-details/262644/1

Standards. So last century.
