Hi,
I retired early in April 2020, and bought a 2008 AWD Ford Taurus X which, I guess, is considered a crossover.  It’s about the dimensions of a minivan.  I may stay in Mn until fall, then will probably head SW.
I look forward to meeting and reading about all of you and your great ideas.   Thanks for this great site, Bob.

Welcome to the forum and to the open Road. I hope you find what your looking for. Keep in touch.

Thanks, Nature Lover.
So you’re from the north, too.
I already have what I’m seeking...peace, simplicity and love of nature...and I carry it with me
whereever I go.
Good health and safety to you, Leigh

Welcome to the CRVL forums Leigh! Congratulations on your retirement! Hope coronavirus didn't put too much a damper on your plans. Hopefully there will be an in-person RTR in 2022 and you can join everyone in the southwest desert!

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the CRVL Forums  :)

Since you aren't leaving right away you'll have plenty of time to read here.   I'm sure you'll be much better prepared by spring or fall to hit the road.

There are a couple of links below to sites of mine that are designed to help with educating yourself.
It's all free so I hope you'll take advantage of it and explore those resources.

Good Luck

Thanks, eDJ.
It’s appreciated.
I’ve been planning this for several years. I haven’t lived as a nomad, but
have camped a lot. I have my power station, solar panel, cot, cooler, and am slowly packing other essentials. I’ll take a look at your info.
Happy and healthy New Year.
