Total noob question :D
Just about every minivan camper conversion I'm looking at has the kitchen on the driver's side and the bed on the passenger side. Is there a special reason for this (like the kitchen cabinets blocking the rear windows for the driver)?

It is very desirable to be able to see out all the way down the passenger side especially at angled intersections. Try driving with card board or reflex blocking those windows and see how you like it. Also many rotate the passenger seat as well as use the passenger side door. Several reasons but in the end it is what works for you.

The answer is an easy one. It is for safety. When parallel parked along a curb you want to enter and exit the rear space from the curb side rather than opening a door and trying to negotiate loading things into your van from the traffic lane.

my kitchen was in the back with the bed inbetween. i could enter or exit from either side. for me a minivan is to small to have an "inside" kitchen chuck wagon style at the back was the only way for me.
