So today was the day I decided to jump in and get my van; 2014 Chevy Express 2500. I know, I know, you don't have to tell me, it's new and not used. I had the opportunity and the means to do it so I did. At least I know where it's been and hopefully it's going to be reliable for many years to come. I must say, I'm terrified at this moment. Terrified for the unknown of living in a van while working a full time job, and terrified because I never owned a Chevy, or a full size van for that matter. In the next few weeks I'll be changing it to suit my needs and I'll be asking many questions, so please keep or minds sharp and your fingers nimble.

Here's from the back.

I tried to insert more than one pic but it kept telling me I needed to rename the file, but I didn't see any way to do that, maybe because I'm using an iPhone and not a PC?

Luis,

Congratulations on taking action! There are many paths forward, but we each have to choose one and begin moving. Now that the decision on vehicle is behind you, you'll have better clarity and focus on next steps.

(I contemplated for perhaps too long before pulling the trigger on buying a vehicle, so I can appreciate the benefits of decisive action.)

Your fears are quite normal. The changes will be real and significant. But I want to remind you of what you know--that many have gone before you...many have lived full time in a van while working...and many, a good number of them active on this forum, have gotten used to it and thrived in the lifestyle.

And, as you point out, you'll be fine-tuning it to your needs over the next few weeks. You don't have to have it all figured out immediately.

Good luck to you. And, again, congratulations on taking bold action.

A very good dear friend of mine once told me..."if ya got cold feet...stick 'em in the fire!!" :D

Congratulations on your new van and making the big jump into full timer status! Let the fun begin!!

We're here to lend any help or answer any questions that inevetably will come up.

GP, Patrick,
Thank you!
Next week I'll be moving from my parents home -as they are moving back to Europe- and back into my not-yet-foreclosed-home. There I will, little by little with help from all you guys, turn a van into a vanificent dwelling.

Tuff to tell from front and back, is that a long or reg. wheelbase? Looks huge inside empty! So what's the interior plan......

BTW. I use my iPhone pretty much exclusively. You might check out "tapatalk" it will host your pic's and organize forums for you. There are some functions you can't access, but it's very handy.

Hi Bdog1!
I'm using tapatalk to type this; great app.
The van is regular wheelbase. I wanted to buy extended with no windows, then came upon this one. Once I looked inside I figured it would do just fine...I'm hoping : )
I'm 5' 10" and I could fit laying down sideways in the back.
I plan on having a bed across the back, a sink, toilet and shower, cabinets, and eventually solar.
