Tickled me pink to see that. It will be fascinating to hear what sorts of arguments against the change there are.

Actually had a student here at work (a graduate college for gods sake) say "She was never president, so no way she gets to be on a bill". I stared for a second then shook my head and walked away.

I've met adults who don't know that Vermont is a state!

i have met a lot of people who think the u.s.a. played a large role in slavery and imported millions of africans to be slaves

My guess is there will be similar outcries from those who had objections to removing the confederate flag from places of honor in the South.

They can spout a lot of "reasons" why that flag should be front and center but most anyone born and raised south of the Mason-Dixon line understands what it means when a house, for example, is flying that confederate flag.

Regarding the number of slaves: During more than 300 years of the slave trade, more than 10 million Africans citizens (out of a total of more than 12 million) survived to reach the shores of North and South America.

conveniently omits canada and middle east but whatever
about the same number of irish where brought to the u.s. as slaves

not opposed to the change but if your going to go slavery there where plenty that fought to their deaths to free them
honoring someone who ran away is not my style
