Doesn't matter if you like the iPhone or not...... Irrelevant.

But I've been running an iPhone 5 for years.
It still works well but has "quirks". It will dial someone on my car bluetooth for no apparent reason! There are other quirks but it has a small memory and I've been running a small data plan on it.

Anyway...... Did online research and determined I'll get a 7 over a 6s or an SE.
Went to my local AT&T store (again a non issue to discuss) and they had my desired 256 gig phone in stock.
No brainer..... Sold!

We got to talking
"do you want a screen protector?"
"No"says I.
"Well, How about a case?"
"Maybe, what do you have?"
"Take a look on that rack" he says waving his arm.
They had a nice Otterbox case.
Salesman says "if you buy the screen protector, you get a free case"
Hmmm..... No brainer there.....
"OK" says I.
Hes ringing everything up and says "do you want an iPad mini for free?"
"Free?" Says I, "what's the catch?"
"No catch, you purchased two accessories with the phone, just a $10 month fee for two years."

Now the reader needs to keep in mind that we just purchased a home outside of Reading Pa that I'm remodeling, there is no phone or cable connected, it is a rural location but has excellent AT&T service.

"Hmmm......." Thinks I  "Internet for $10 a month, I won't be getting a wired provider for a year or two....... My Wife would like this......"

"OK!" Says I.

"Do you want a case for it? I'll throw one in for $5.00"

Again.... "OK"

"Let's look at your plan" he says...... Blah blah blah ...... later I walk out of the Store With a new iPhone 7, a screen protector and an Otterbox case, a new 64 gig cellular iPad mini with a case, and a monthly wireless bill of $40 LESS than I was paying Previously!
I only had to pay the sales tax on the phone today.

Go figure..........

Dave

My dad also changed his plan recently and is paying less for more gigs. It looks like all the competitor commercials and service improvements are forcing Verizon to lower their rates and deals to stay competitive.

About time.

djkeev - would you mind telling me how much it costs per month? I told a friend to check out the AT&T because they have some really good plans right now. He went to a store and didn't find any good deals so I'm hoping that you can steer me in the right direction.

An still doing well with 64gig iPhone 5. $150 on eBay. Set to work with verizon cell towers via straight talk plan. $40 a month. But paid a whole year in advance. 4glte connection. 5gigs data. Unlimited talk text.
