I've got a question about inverters and chargers. Anyone have any problems using laptops and phone chargers with a modified sine wave inverter? Trying to avoid having to spend the money on a pure sine wave but I would like to avoid burning up chargers as well.
Any suggestions help.
Thanks!
I had a 1000 watt Xantrex modified sine wave and it caused waves in my TV, and fried my electric razor and my ex girlfriend's camera (both were charging).

So, now I have am AIMS 1500 watt pure sine inverter/10amp charger and I dig it. Comes with a remote too, and is pretty cheap.

I have used a modified inverter for the last 7 years and have had no trouble with electrical devices.
Including LCD tv, led tv's, laptop computers, air cards, direct tv receivers, cell phone chargers Etc

Make sure the inverter is large enough to handle the loads you want to run at the same time

Putz

Inverters have improved a lot so that nearly all name-brand inverters should be trouble free. I have a GoPower 300 watt that puts out very clean power--but it does have a noisy fan. I have a Cobra 400 watt I leave in the truck and it also puts out clean power. I had a cheap Xantrex which had good power but the fan never came on, it eventually burned up.Buy a brand name and you shouldn't have a problem. Bob
I am in the process of bringing a solar powered aeration system to market.

We have purchased our inverters from these guys (inverters R Us)

So far very reliable

Putz

Putz, have you tried their Aims inverters, they are cheap so that makes me suspicious.

Are you out hunting birds? You are coming to the RTR, right!!!? Bob

Hi Bob,

I have used the aims inverters for awhile now. a 1000 watt in the suburban that has been there for 4 years ( I use it to run the laptop, electric chainsaw, charge the cell phone, and run the cradlepoint router when traveling).

A friend and I are putting togather solar backup generators using 1000 watt and 2000 watt units ... so far so good.

I am also using the 150 watt units to run linear air compressors .. no trouble so far

I am hunting birds again this year, have done 3 trips so far this year for Pheasants, earlier trips for dove, and also did the BBQ contest thing again ( great fun)
I am planning about 4 more pheasant trips which will bring my schedule to the middle of Jan. By then I will be ready to warm up at the RTR.

My intentions as of now are to be there around the 3rd week of Jan.

When the time gets closer I will confirm if I am coming,
PS.. I intend to do a Pheasant Nugget feed sometime to share

Putz
