Hi everyone,

My name is Chris. I have been researching this way of life for quite sometime now. It has been at least 2 years now. My first Youtube video I watched about van dwelling was one of Bob's... :)  I currently have a 2006 Chrysler Town & country and making plans to convert it to a dwelling. I am trying to use as much space that is allowable and I know water is important. I was thinking of having a water tank of non drinking water for doing dishes, brushing teeth,  washing hands and a separate water tank for drinking water...if I were to boondock for say 2 weeks...on average how much drinking water should I have on board to last me for the whole 2 weeks...any thoughts...thank you for letting me be a part of this forum. I look forward to learning knowledge about this great way of life and picking up a few friends along the way...Take care...Happy Travels...

Welcome to the CRVL forums Chris! Your water usage will vary depending on the climate but it's important to stay hydrated if you're camping in the desert. I think a gallon a day is recommended. Several forum members have become severely dehydrated by forgetting to drink enough.
Non-drinking use will vary greatly but you can test it out beforehand by living in your house as you would in a van. Or just go camping.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome, I always carry a six pack of electrolite (gatoraid or whatever) for emergencies. As I have gone through dehydration it's no fun.

I only brush my teeth with water I would drink.....Mexico taught me the wisdom of that, LOL!
