Hello all
I wanted to take a minute and introduce myself to all of you fine folks. My name is Diane, I am 45 years old, have 3 pups and a cat. I currently live in a regular ol house but have (like most of you) dreamed of hitting the road and saying goodbye to the rut that has become everyday existence. I have read many posts of individuals entering this way of life out of necessity. This is not the case for me, I am fairly certain my desire to shake things up is driven by the fact that I am at that mid point in life and questioning the societal lies fed to me since childhood. A little bit about me: I am a Veteran (US Army - 1987-1991) I was a small business owner (pet grooming) for several years. I tried several times to go complete a college degree, but time and life in general kept me from completing that dream until I went all in, sold my business and devoted all I had to college...I completed my A.A.(Photography) my B.A (Sociology) and then my M.S. (Counseling) and was ready to jump into a new career. Well, the economy had other plans for me. I was a substitute teacher for several years and currently have a 10 month position in the child welfare department at the school district where I currently live. I am threatened and cursed at daily. I go to work everyday with others who hate their jobs and have become bitter...I see the ones who have been there a long while and want to RUN fast. So, I have been looking into starting another mobile grooming van. I recently bought (financed) a new Nissan NV and am in the process of converting it. I will stay another year at my current job (I have the next two months off) for one more year but intend on selling my house and hitting the road this time next year. My plan is to travel and be more active in my photography and to groom part time. I love the idea of camp hosting and will most likely find a position in that field next summer. My laptop "low battery" warning just appeared...so I will end this post by thanking you for taking the time to read my words and wish you a beautiful day
