A long time ago, SternWake gave me some good advice on this forum about upgrading my 12v device plugs. I finally followed up with some Marinco 40A plugs and wrote a post about it: http://www.vanholio.com/2017/05/install-marine-plugs-on-high-amp-12v.html. Also, here's a review on the gadget I upgraded, a Max Burton Digital Stove to Go: http://www.vanholio.com/2017/05/review-12v-max-burton-digital-stove-to.html I've been real happy with both, thanks to SternWake's advice. I think if I'd left the original plug on and used a standard socket, I'd have burnt out the socket or the stove, like I have so many 12v gadgets before.

Interesting, hadn't seen those.

Blue Sea has a nice socket design that twist-locks with the matching plug, but will also accept standard ciggie plugs for smaller (<10A) loads.

Also the BMW/ Hella/ Merit/ Powerlet "Euro-style DIN" (ISO 4165) style is very robust.

Pretty sure not quite 40A though.

Anderson plugs are what I'm standardizing on, wide range of sizes into hundreds of amps.

I would like some info on your usage. How long do you run that oven at one time? what do you cook in it? do you ever get it up to max and how long do you keep it there? highdesertranger

The most intensely I run it is maybe 3 hours or so on the Heat setting, which just keeps heating up until max, 350 degrees. I doubt I get it to 350, though, because when I run it that much, I'm usually boiling a liquid, such as stew or cooking rice. According to the specs, it can run 12-15A. I imagine getting something up to boiling gets close to 15A.

As for what I cook overall, so far I've just done boiled or slow cooked liquidy items. I haven't tried to fry or bake yet, both of which I've done previously in my old RoadPro Stove.
