I visited there last February. Other than seeing the sights in East Jesus, there wasn't much attraction. There were massive areas where the residents simply throw their garbage on the ground, too damn lazy to even put it in plastic bags. A few RVers do stay in the area called the "Lows". Lock your doors. Might be a place to go stay if you're completely at the end of your rope. There are a million places in the west that are vastly more interesting.

Maybe squatters, but certainly not even close to paradise, more like hell where you can't turn your back on anyone. Unless you are trying to sell a book.

Oh My.How did I miss out on Paradise all these years?

It strikes me that the thousands of acres of parking in cities across the U.S. have become mini slab cities. They are located in places with local governments and law enforcement, unlike slab city, but there is so much space relative to the amount of enforcement it is more "freedom space" than controlled space.

Any time you cram a lot of poor people into a small area, you always get the same problems. Doesn't matter where.
