While researching internet options, for on the road, I came across InfiniteLTE.

It's $80 month. The startup price is $250 (first months plan payment, activation fee, shipping and equipment-small device you plug into any USB port).

The reviews online were really great, I was wondering if any of the Nomads on this site has given it a try?

T-Mobile network

Thanks John61CT,

I have Verizon, currently, and I am considering switching to a new unlimited data plan for $75 that I saw Verizon advertise, but I was hoping for some information from others who have used/are using UnlimitedLTE. There always seems to be a "catch" with the current big providers -Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, TeamMobil."

Finding an MVNO that closely matches your usage patterns can save big money.

But you need to make sure the network they offer gives you the geographic coverage you need, most important IMO.

And you give up decent CS usually

Post Paid plans are usually with a contract and for X years. Most expensive, widest coverage for that given network and usually best customer service tho you may have to try many times to find the person to fix your issue.

Prepaid plans from like Verizon or ATT usually not as large coverage area (no roaming) but still very good coverage, no yearly contracts, less expensive.. CS less than Post Paid, often online.

Prepaid from resellers like TracFone, StraightTalk, Red Pocket, H2O (called MVNOs)... coverage usually the same as the prepaid of the network you are on but even less hand holding. Cheaper than Prepaids from Verizon ATT, etc. May buy your monthly plans via cards from Walmart, Target, Dollar Store or online places like Callingmart. Cards often at discount to list price.

After many years of smartphones, the next one I buy is going to be unlocked and usable on any network so it is easier to switch networks, plans etc when I need. I have a Google voice number so it is not an issue should I lose my phone phone number when switching companies.

Also playing around with one of the flashed jetpac things with unlimited data for a low, low monthly price but you need to be comfortable with phones, plans coverage before jumping in that boat. IMO

Did you see Bob Wells' latest mobile network video also someone just posted a thread about unlimited 4G at a very low price.
Good luck on your network hunt.

I'm overseas (deployed - Afghanistan), everything here is unlocked, but requires sim.  A lot of devices (tablets, phones and hotspots) are double, triple even seen a few that are quad sim.

When I say InfiniteLTE, I'm talking abouy: (see attached)

I'd recommend at least researching the Verizon 4g unlimited hotspot in Bob's latest video.......also discussed in the last few pages of the Unlimited 3g thread on here.

Another screenshot of the provider info

I watched a video where he mentioned he had a new internet video out, but haven't seen it yet.  It IS near the top of my to do list :)

Thank you

I realize I made this thread confusing by saying UnlimitedLTE, instead of the providers actual company name: InfiniteLTE. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm hoping that Veizons new unlimited data for 75 is legit. I like Verizon.

I also have a Google Voice number - so losing my current number isn't all that big a deal to me.

There were a few things about the device and streaming options with InfiniteLTE that really intrigued me. The device plugs in to any USB power device (phone charger, laptop, etc) and as long as there is a 4G LTE signal you have Internet and the device works like a hotspot.

To all who responded, I appreciate your advice and and your taking the time to share your knowledge.

In the states, the device needs to match the technology of the providers.

Verizon needs a Verizon phone, T-Mobile a device designed for them etc.

ATT is the most generic, for unlocked international phones.

The most expensive latest models from Google or Apple may claim to be "universal" but providers are adding new frequency bands as they expand their networks, so with older models you need to research.

HowardForums.com is the best place to search techie details.

I need a primer on HowardForums. Have used a few times in the past to read a thread or post a question but have a tough time now finding info on the various 3G, 4G inexpensive hotspot plans. Maybe need better search words.

I am :)

I've just about decided to go/stay with Verizon.

Regarding this thread, I was hoping someone has used the InfiniteLTE out in the Southwest and could say if it was worth the initial $250+ startup fee.

Anything limited to T-Mobile will have huge areas out west with no coverage, once away from main roads and populated areas.
