Been feeling pretty overwhelmed by the process of closing my business and disposing of everything, Disposing of personal items, getting the house ready to sell, working on the trailer. Selling stuff on CL is always a trip - coordinating pick up times, answering emails, etc. Then I have 63 items packed up and listings ready to go live on Ebay on Friday, so going by past experience, it's going to be a deluge of emails with questions, then shipping....
I got the Harley cleaned and polished up to sell this weekend - looks like a million bucks, BUT I couldn't get the truck out of the driveway yesterday because of road paving so took the bike to work. coming home my driveway was steeply banked with dirt. I thought "I'll take a run at it, but went down with the bike so now the perfect paint on the tank is scuffed (knock 500 off the price) and in lifting the bike I yanked my back out, so this morning I'm a cripple.

BUT, putting it in perspective, a friend called this morning. He's opening a micro brew pub. He's dealing with town hall, lawyers, ATF, architects, IRS and an incredible amount of red tape. So, I guess my issues are par for the course, but if someone showed up and offered me pennies on the dollar for my whole life, so I could get the heck out of here, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Thanks brother - and thanks for the advice you've given on other topics too. Much appreciated

I would absolutely LOVE to just grab what I want and sell my house with everything else in it!
In fact, that's basically what the previous owners did.  They were an older couple who spent winters in AZ.  One winter brought a cancer diagnosis so they just never came back.  When I bought the house there was a freezer full of food, cupboards full of dishes, pots & pans, etc. - the only things their family took out of the house were clothes and a bedroom set.  So I basically have two households worth of stuff to dispose of.
Now I'm looking at estate sale companies.  For a cut of 25-35% they will clean, sort and sell everything, shred documents, haul off trash, etc. and clean the empty house.  I'm thinking it's worth every penny just to avoid dealing with every little item.
At the moment, I'm doing an excellent job procrastinating and calling it research and decision making.  Kudos to you for making progress!

I'm going to empty the house but I am going to ask the realtor how much difference it makes in the price if I don't do the painting it needs. I need cash to hold me til S.S. but if reducing my monthly budget will help me avoid doing more than I have to - it's worth it .

So you had a "road bump" but it sure sounds like you've got a lot of stuff ready for the great reduction....
It will be over before you know it . Git 'er done !
