I'm finally just going to make this happen.
I'm long past the point where I hate going to work every day. I live on the first floor of a two family house and I have a new neighbor that just moved in upstairs and all I'll say is that she's not very friendly and her acquaintances are undesirable and from certain activities that have gone on since she moved in two weeks ago make me feel not so safe anymore.
So I was venting to my sister on the phone earlier and she said it looks like it's time to make my van dwelling dreams happen instead of looking for another apartment. And I can finally stop talking about it and do it.
So we've made a plan to start Saturday and she is going to help me go through everything in my apartment and put it in piles of sell, donate and trash. We are going to take pictures of everything and create a webpage of everything for sale so I can link it to Facebook and craigslist and then whatever doesn't sell in the next two weeks I will post an "estate sale" and have an open house.
I hope that I can make enough from the sale to buy a van outright without a payment. I have a lot of nice furniture, a couple big flat screen tv's, and a bunch of other stuff so I'm hoping I can make about $10k, give or take. Then I'm going to give my 30 day notice to my landlord and move in my sisters house. Well I'm going to sleep on her couch for a couple weeks until I can get my van to the point of living in. Then I'm going to sleep in her driveway at night but use her shower in the mornings so I can keep my "corporate job" so I can stash away a ton of money since I won't be paying rent. I'm thinking if I live super cheap for the next six months I can save enough money that will keep me on the road for a while, and even longer since I'll find jobs here and there while on the road. While I'm staying with her I will finish the van and by the first of the year I will be leaving town and heading to the RTR 2017.
That is my plan.......time to make this a reality instead of just talking about it all the time.
