If they want your phone number -give them Jenny's!

I was just reading about giving out personal information in another thread.  Dontcha just hate it when a shop clerk wants your phone number just to get a sale price? 

Use any area code with the old song: "Jenny, i got your number, 867-5**9!"  Usually there are multiple persons attached to that number.  Just last week I was Donald Trump.  Often, there is a Jenny listed there. Sometimes I'm "Jenny Jenny".  I usually say that I'm the first female name listed there.  What is interesting is how many "kids" (in their teens and twenties) recognize the number and song. Then it turns into an earworm.

Beats having to fill out those stupid cards or carrying those keyring thingies.


I put in the asterisks because I'm not sure it is okay to put down a phone number for whatever reason .

Love that song and Im only 26. Ive done it many a times for "required" numbers on places I dont want a phone call. I just grab a random area code, usually 305 is one I know out of my state.

First I say no, if they insist and it will save me money, I give them our old landline number that hasn't been in service since 2007. Same number I give to CVS, since they insist on calling me dozens of times a month to remind me to order scripts.

Up here in Canada, they seem to want our postal code (same as zip code)......My postal code covers the whole rural route, so have no problem giving it to them.

I just refuse.

Since I have changed numbers to darn many times...there is no way I am ever going to remember what number I had/used when I opened the "saver account" anyway. Without that you never get to redeem any points anyway. So..just..No
