I was asked yesterday, What does a vaner want for Xmas? All I could think of was a gift card for gas or food cause if I have to find a place to put it, or clean it up, or whatever thank you but ...

So what about you all? If asked what do you want for Xmas.

I do food for so many people cause I know so many of the folks I know feel that way even in their homes and I don't want to buy something they either don't want or they already have so much "stuff" they are drowning in it. Hubby on the other hand doesn't feel right unless he goes out and spends money on the people he is close to....

I had to attend the work party and it was fun and the white elephant exchange was fun but some of the things ????? I got first trip up an old Stanely thermos. Just what I had on my Amazon cart. So I was very happy it got stolen but I got to steel it back a few turns later as my socks that I really liked also got stolen So I took it home. All part of the game. And the homemade jam I put into a lunch bag that was also homemade with funky cloth was stolen twice, the jam is always a hot item. So were the scratch tickets someone brought.

But again, what about you all what would you want as a gift.

Total isolation and no other rigs showing up within miles radius for the entire week until NYE, Santa please.
Wildlife sighting, I want to see an owl living in the cactus. Or gila monster lizard. Thats the main things I would ask from Santa

I'm afraid that won't fit under the tree..... Though I would like to see an owl in a cactus too. The owls around here are very noisy, but you almost never see them.

An Amazon digital Gift certificate is the present I most prefer from family.

I do not have sufficient funds to be sending gifts to family except for the youngest ones. The last few years that is to a great niece who is now about 8 years old. This year I will head to “Gem World” in Quartzsite and get her a bunch of strands of pretty natural stone beads and clasps, string material, etc. She and a few besties can string them into custom necklaces or bracelets sometime when they get together during the school holiday or whenever for a girlfriend’s craft party. Those very attractive stone beads are very affordable at Gem World. Young girls will have a great time with that activity. Way more fun than just opening a gift.

Heck I still go to bead shops. And I do stuff like that too. I hate just buying stuff for kids that just sits there. I am known for giving kids weird interactive stuff. I love giving "fort kits" also known as sheets and clips. Beads and charms, playdough and "tools", and one kid got nuts and bolts and peg boards with curved thingies for building whatever. He liked it not so sure his folks did.

Tucson has huge tents around the time of the rock and gem show strictly full of beading and materials. Truck loads from all over the world start to show up in early January. Sellers and buyers from all around the world show up every year. The site map shows 15 to 20 locations with several big tents similar to the big tent RV show in Quartzite in size. They usually run two weeks and it is impossible to see it all if you like that sort of thing.

I don’t have photos of one in a cactus but I had this guy hanging out in my pole barn before I got it all closed in.

If not so equipped a smartphone bluetooth speaker for the music lover.
I was going to get myself one of those, but I wanted to use it for music videos and movies, and they have lag, so...

Thanks. This is my 5th winter season in Quartzsite. I did that wandering through the rock shop tents the first year!
I have too small of a travel trailer and vehicle to get into doing any actual rock buying. Tiny beads that I ship off in the mail are my perfect concept of a rock shopping excursion! I myself have enough jewelry. I gave to family members the few expensive items that were gold with gemstones. I sold the old wedding rings and broken necklace chains to a precious metal dealer. Turned that money into steel for a new trailer frames and a brand new trailer axle with brakes. After 50 years that was an essential trailer upgrade!
