I think you have 15 minutes max to rethink and delete your post. After that it's up to the mods to delete or not. Always been that way.

I would like to cast one vote to the new owners to please please PLEASE.......
Give consideration to just a little more time to edit posts. So many times something is forgotten that should have been included.
I think it's an innocent and helpful request.

And occasionally it gives a person a chance to rethink what they said and change it?
But it's their forum and of course the decision is theirs.

Peace

I've talked with the admin/mods and they have it at 30 minutes now. Sorry. But, for these settings I'm going by what they need it to be for the forum.
So, think more than once before hitting post if you have any doubts.

Thanks for doing what you could.
Well, 30 minutes is better than 15 minutes.
Many forums I visit do not have any time limit and I don't see any abuse going on. Some have 1 hour. Few, less than that.
I don't really understand the limitations.

But hey, that new Dark Theme is AWESOME ! (y)

Well that's the wrong direction. 😥 But thanks for trying.

Ill keep my posts very short and not very detailed.

I can't believe how this sale is turning into high drama. It is what it is, and life goes on. I enjoyed these forums before the sale, I shall continue enjoying them post sale.

It's basically a 3 day wonder, and once everyone is use to the change, it will be much as it was.

Why does leaving have to result in drama.? Just don't post anymore. Problem solved.

I don’t know what a three day wander is. But the company that bought this doesn’t care enough about the members to give some kind of tutorial to the new format and how they even operate it I don’t give a darn about them I’m gonna watch for a while but I’m not going to join in much and I’m surely going to get out soon.

Actually there are several post about how to do things, but they are within the new name thread, or the forum sold thread. But you are right, I do need to get back to making my usual "how to post" or "How to add an image" threads. It's just that the members here have been so naturally using the site I forget some do not adapt as easily as others. I'll work on getting some how to's up tonight.
Thank you for reminding me, not all adapt as well as some others.

To delete all your posts, admins would need to delete any post that referred to it, and any post that referred to their post. Huge endeavor.
Just drop out. In a month your posts will be so old that nobody will read them, or even remember that you existed,

I have made this now: https://vanlivingforum.com/threads/how-to-post-reply-add-an-image-and-send-a-conversation-pm.44889/

I hope it helps.

Thanks @Gypsyjoe#1 I just went and stuck that thread. I may make a notice at the top of the forum so all will see it. At least for about a week. But that's a tomorrow thing.

If you have a Notes or similar app on your device, some who don’t type fast find it easier to compose a post in an app like this, then copy and paste it into the post.

That way you can get everything said the way you want to say it, without worrying about an edit window.

If anyone is truly interested in what I have said in the past they are welcome to read it. But I doubt they are going to go take the time to find it in the archives. It is not as if I had any truly original thoughts about how to manage how I set up my toilet, fridge, find new campsites, fix broken stuff or even care how I cook my food. No one was getting wealthy owning my contributions or is in the future going get wealthy selling my tiny fraction of a less than 2 cents worth of opinions. It wont even buy them a used pair of socks in a free pile at the RTR. They only make money when someone clicks on a link that takes them out of the forum. That was as true for Bob Wells as it is for the new owners.

Actually.....if I see posts or pictures from someone and want to learn more about how they did stuff I go look for more of their posts to get more info. Its often rather educational.

The primary concern I have is that I posted on a forum that was owned by someone I have personally met, who I had an idea I understood his priorities and possible uses of my information. His priorities changed, he sold us off and now my information is owned by a nameless unknown to me company. There is a difference.
