I just watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame 1997
non animated.

Even if you're fugly & disabled
you can have friends & a meaningful life.

If I think my life is bad
there's always someone worse off.

Apparently the author is a genius.
Who can name the author of the book without looking it up ?

What movie brought tears to your eyes?

That would be Victor Hugo.

The last movie that brought tears to my eyes was Glory.

silver-happiness is a state of mind,it can't be bought nor sold,it can't be given or taken,it must be chosen

Ugh, I read that book, since I liked all the movies AND it's a classic. I figured "hey, it should be great" and I actually like thick books.... NO! BORING!!!
It was probably 60% politics, 35% architecture descriptions, and Quasimodo was on maybe a dozen pages in a 200+ page book. This is definitely one time the movie(s) better than the book!

I was born with a lot of defects, mostly heart. They are not fixable, even with a transplant. I also have severe scoliosis (yes, I have a hunch back, AND the sideways curve) that I'm in pain just about every day. My clunky ticker leaves me with practically no energy lately.
But I try to stay positive. I can get up and out of bed and go do things, even if I have to take them slower than most people. If I ever start getting dreary about it, I remember that some people can't even get out of bed at all!

And about the only movie that's ever made me cry is Bambi II (it's too close to my life...my mom didn't die, but she did leave when I was younger, so my dad raised me)
Didn't cry for Lion King, cuz i thought Simba was a brat and didn't care if Mufasa died, and Scar was an awesome antagonist ;) LOL

The 1st movie to make me cry was Stone Fox. It caught me off guard. I was surprised and bewildered at a movie bringing out tears of sentiment.

The next 1 (not sure which 1 is 1st), yrs later, was either The Yearling or Old Yeller.

I haven't seen any Bambi movies. The Hunchback was good but no tears.

ET scared me. But not as bad as Wizard of Oz! (another book that was kinda "meh, dunno why this was a classic")

I cry every time I see Rent, I lived through those days and lost so many friends, it really hits home.

" defects, mostly heart "
Did U all see that Clint Eastwood movie where he just had a heart operation?

" severe scoliosis "
The visiting Nurse when I was 12 said my back is all messed up,
suspected scoliosis.

I guess I grew out of it since my doctors never said anything
about it to me & theres no pain.
Old Yeller is great.

Did U all see the movie where the boy had to help his Dad with chores &
the boy had a friend that was a girl & she swung on a rope across a ditch into
magic faerie land ?
