My name is Don and I live in Texas.<div><br></div><div>I would LOVE to live in an RV or in a secluded area someday, off the grid, but that's not a reality now. My wife would hate it and my three kids are not grown yet.</div><div><br></div><div>Maybe one day.</div><div><br></div><div>Until then, I have a RV-type project that I'm hoping y'all can give me advice on. I bought a 2001 Honda Odyssey brand new and will be buying my wife another one soon. When that happens, I'll be converting the 2001 model into a camper.</div><div><br></div><div>It's very roomy and should work out great. My two sons are into scouting and although they bunk with their fellow scouts in tents when they camp, I plan on using the Honda as my camp when I go along as an adult chaperone.</div><div><br></div><div>Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks,</div><div>Don</div>

Hi Don,<div><br></div><div>Rather than go through the remodeling of the inside since you've got a family in full swing, and committing that space towards a full time camper.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Why not look into a teardrop trailer?&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Welcome to the forum</div><div><br></div><div>Steve</div><div><br></div>

Thanks for the welcome....and for the suggestion Steve.<div><br></div><div>I'm not much of a trailer guy, and I like the idea of being able to camp in "stealth" mode if needed.</div><div><br></div><div>Plus, I'm very handy with anything automotive or electronic and kind of like the idea of converting the Honda. It's something I already own....it's got a ton of life left in it, and I can probably scrounge the materials I need for a lot less than buying something else.</div>
