i bought a 10kg propane bottle for cooking.
but i am a bit concerned about keeping the tank in a van.

at first i had the idea of building a large enough cabinet and line it with teardrop plates but i don't think its a good idea.

can someone give or show me some ways of safely securing such a tank without endangering myself or others??

From what I gather anything over a 16 oz bottle needs to be stored outside. Building or vehicle.

according to bp you can store these bottle's in a rv or something like that.. and i can't find anything in dutch law regarding propane bottles in a vehicle.
i am going to need to work on something better i forgot about the overpressure valve. don't want any sparks nearby when she blows..

How many people using propane tanks have ever had one blow??

I know I've read some posts on here about some of you keeping a large propane tank inside, but I wouldn't do it (for the already mentioned reasons, or would only if I have a closed off, outside vented area like BLK's van.

i decided to sell the tank and look for something else.
i don't like the idea of having a potential bomb in my vehicle.

all in all lp pretty safe just have to store properly.i would consider a small horizontal frame mounted tank yea gonna cost some $$$ but would be well worth it...i have seen many lp tanks vent when they were overfilled and it got warm out. with the new opd valves probally be allright but still would not want in my vehicle when it got hot...
