My, my! I never thought I'd do something like this, but I'm taking the "plunge"! 
Hi, y'all. My name is Patricia aka "GypsyTripper". The Austin area of TeXas is my home and I'm 62. 
My son has encouraged me to step off the damn curb and DO something for myself so we're taking my Kia Sportage and re-conditioning it into a camper. I'm going adventuring! 
As I read more threads and learn about the free-dwelling lifestyle, I will be asking questions from seasoned nomads. 
I'm really interested in finding out if there are caravans that travel together in this grand Country of ours. 
I was never much of a traveler as a young'un, lived in TeXas ALL my life, so I know I'll be wanting to explore my home state first
I'm really looking forward to corrersponding with the bunch of ya and I hope I fit in!
