Sorry about missing this, coulda sworn I had. Guess I belong to to many forums.
Anyway I am in northwest Ga. and I am 47 years old. I am disabled now for 9 years due to a motorcycle crash due to someone else s fault. I am a class AM, CDL holder with many years and miles of driving experience under my belt (along with a healthy belly lol). I have always been an outdoors kind of guy working as a Heavy Equipment operator and Mechanic on all types of vehicles from Motorcycles to heavy trucks.
My right leg is a train wreck and I go under the knife again for the 15th time on the 31st of this month.

That is what my leg looks like now, more or less, the implant keeps coming lose.
I was an avid "Biker" prior to that crash, here's my scooter that died that day.

and this is my Pan head that is a member of the family, built her from scratch,

and lastly this is me.

Its an older pic, my daughter in that pic just turned 20 a few days ago.

So that is pretty much me in a nut shell. My last name is Tinker and we Tinkers are well known to be gypsies. My parents full timed RVed for many years and I was a motorcycle nomad for a good while in my youth. I don't know just where my marriage is headed but I want and need my van/RV to be able to support me or us in a Bug Out situation if the need arises plus the ability to live on my own if we continue in our currant course.
I hope any advise I can offer will be of help but beware I do have a highly active sense of humor and will post an obvious bullshit response to a question on occasion. no personal attack will be meant by this. If I aim to attack someone personally it would be done via PM and directly. I don't play those kind of internet games.

Welcome! If I see any PMs from you, I won't open them.

Please dont be like that, I am a big ol' teddy bear. Someone would have to go waaaaaaay out of their way to piss me off to the point of any kind of retaliation, I was just trying to clarify that sometimes humor has a hard time finding its way through the keyboard.

I'm inclined toward levity, myself, and it sometimes gets me into trouble. ;-)

Lol - there seems to be a trend here for 'humorous' people.

Not me, of course.

Good luck with the upcoming surgery. Hope they get it fixed permanantly this time.

Teddy Bear? That nickname might stick....

Nice bikes and welcome to you Tinker...I love that you are from traveler stock....good on you brother...
bri

thanks for the well wishes and the welcome, I think my "wandering bone" must be in my left leg because I still want to roam.

Good Luck with everything !! Nice bike by the way that's an accomplishment in itself !

Thanks Big Blue.
Nice to meet you, Tink!

It's always fun to have someone in here with a good sense of humor.... Sometimes we get too hung up worrying about solar panels and charge controllers.

This is supposed to be fun and I think you'll keep us laughing and smiling.

I found some funny things to post but thought I'd better put up something clean.

V.T.

Hi & Welcome Tink! Hope your surgery goes well.

thanks guys, counting down hours now. I will probably be scarce for a few days but I will have my netbook with me. While rehabbing I will likely bug the **** outta ya'll.

shameless plug but for those of you with a wry sense of humor JUOT.net is my usual hangout on the web. It is an off topic forum where one needs a thick skin but it really is a great community of folks once you get to know them.

Hello Tink.... good luck to you for a great recovery. Wishing you all the best HuggZ

Thanks "Tish" my dear [in my Gomez Adams voice]

Thanks. I am 6 days post-op now and doing great, pain is very manageable and my ROM is doing great to. (range of motion) starting a month of 3 a week PT's come Monday and getting a stationary bike tomorrow so I can just spin my wheels lol.
I sure will be glad when I can get off of these pain meds, they make my foggy brain even furrier.

Great news, Tink. Good luck with the PT. I had a couple years of PT with two total knee replacements and two shoulder surgeries. One day the dr said "You can now do whatever you want to do..." so I bought a kayak and have since kayaked 40 states and plan to do all 50. I lived a long time already, but no one ever told me I could "do whatever I wanted to do" before. Keep fighting, never give up.

Hello tink, that is a tough break (ha), i hope you get back in form soon. My brother in law was hit by a drunk driver head on and snapped his forearm above his wrist. Sucks cause he was a really strong guy and was into lifting weights and stuff, and he really relied on his strength his whole life but its coming back slowly. He can use the hand normally, but hes still got to work on the strength of it. But its amazing how resilient we are.
