Hello fellow Rubbertramps!

My name is Noah, I've been lurking a bit and decided to join the fun! I've been living in various mobile accomodations for over 3 years, including 2 campers, a truck, and a ford van. I've settled on a homebuilt 4x8 tiny travel trailer pulled by an 03 Chevy avalanche. I'm certainly not stealthy, but after waking up dozens of times, hoping no one noticed me, I stopped trying and have found it almost easier to just be open with people. Especially if I'm just passing through.

I'll be in Folsom, Ca for a bit longer to save some money, then... who knows, who cares? haha

I look forward to getting to know you folks and hope I have something to contribute here.

-Noah

Welcome and I just debug myself last night as well. Same ere 2007 Avalanche.

Hey Noah! I have a 5x8 tiny travel trailer. I don't live in mine, but with the economy being like it is, you never know what the future holds. I enjoy this forum for the great information and stories.

Thanks Everyone for the warm welcome!

The guy at the rv lot said it best; the smaller your camper, the less you have to work to pay for it, the more you use it, and the more you can justify the investment.

... he said he's taken his 38 foot motorhome out about 4 times in 6 years.

Besides, I'm more concerned about the places I'm visiting than the place I'm sleeping.

-Noah

welcome from s.w. florida .... blkjak

Hello Noah!

I love the micro-trailers... for the very reason your RV guy said. If towing a huge thing costs more in money and anxiety, the price is too high. I want to feel freedom and see lots of places not be stuck in an RV park tied to a smaller house on wheels but still tied.

I have a little flatbed trailer and am planning to build a "tiny ultralight" on it. It should end up being about 8 x 10 when I am through with it. I will be pulling it with my 2003 Ford Ranger.

Well, welcome to the site and I think you will have lots to contribute. I would love to see pictures of your rig.

Bodhi

Thanks everyone!

Bodhi, have you been to tnttt.com? It's full of information and people building tiny trailers. So much creativity there.

I'll do my best to upload pics this weekend. (I thought being young meant I was automatically tech savvy...maybe not.)

About 3 months late... Here are a few pictures to include with my introduction.

-Noah

Nice set up! Love the dog! They make great friends, good alarm systems, and good Teardrop Camper Heaters. There were times when the temps got below freezing but me and my dog Baron were warm inside my camper.

Highpsiguy, Very cool van! I thought about painting my van that way but wasn't sure it would turn out very well.

Baronmcginty, Thanks for the kind words. I agree with your theory on heating such a small space. On particularly cold nights, I'll light a couple of candles and crack a window. Between those and body heat, I can easily keep it almost 70 degrees inside when it's below 40 outside. The wind can make it feel like sleeping in a sailboat though!

-Noah

I remember one night it was 25F outside and 58F inside, and that was with just our body heat.

Hello Noah

I love the paint job, brings a smile to my face, now I see why the 'knocks on the door' are so friendly. Did you do the paint job yourself?

Thanks for the photos.

Nicole

Thanks for the compliments Nicole,

I did the paint myself, yes. I had to get the colors custom mixed at Lowe's though. I brought in a picture of the mystery machine and found the closest shades I could. I find it to be a it to be a lot of fun to work on so I'm always touching up the paint, coming up with new ideas for storage or lighting, or something else exciting. They say a home-built travel trailer is never finished...

-Noah
