Hey All,

My wife and I are in the market for our first home. We're looking at the Sprinter vans and smaller diesel box van/trucks. Any suggestion are welcome!

Carl

I think a Sprinter would be a bit small for two people full-time. One - no problem, two - pretty tight. Imagine a couple gloomy, rainy days...

I suggest a small RV or box truck. The extra few feet will be well worth the cost and effort. Robin and I lived full-time for seven months in our truck camper. We had a ball but permanent would be tough for each person and for the couple's relationship.

We've been in our motor home for almost 6 years now. It is bigger than the norm on this forum (37'). We could go smaller, but it has worked splendidly for us.

If we were constantly on the move, the larger motor home would not work for us. We move it just a couple times per year. Our truck camper is our 'run around' and exploring vehicle.

There is a person who frequents here, Sandsys. She went from a motor home to a Sprinter. Her husband does not travel with her like he used to. She could give a great perspective on the Sprinter concept.

Good Luck and Happy Trails!!

-- Kevin

Thanks for the Suggestions we ended up with a E550 16' Box Truck. Let the conversion begin!

Cool! 550 - Wow! With that much truck you should be able to do pretty well anything you want. Weight should not be much of an issue.

Keep us posted on our progress.

Good Luck and Happy Trails!!

-- Kevin

Hi Carl,

Sounds like plenty of real estate there to work with! LOL. That will help a lot with having enough space for two people.

Welcome and enjoy the journey. There are a lot of cool people here to help answer questions along the way.

Brad aka V.T.
