Sweet ride! Nine hundred bucks? SCORE! Congrats...can't wait to see the "after" pics as your build her out!

Boy, does that interior take me back to the '80s.  You've gotta name that one...  "Hannibal" after 'John "Hannibal" Smith' from the A-team!  Or maybe Mr. T?  Lol..

Nice ride, Pam! Congratulations!!!

Awesome looking van, Pam!

Good for you! :D I love my 1988 Astro and I wouldn't trade LenaBelle for anything! I'm looking forward to meeting you on the road one of these days, too.

Thanks all!!! :) I am in love already. :D I was wrong before, only 71k miles on her, she's not even broken in, yet. So far all the seals are holding up for her age and lack of use. Previous owner put in new belt, plugs and wires, battery, and new radiator. Engine looks clean, only a bit of wetness behind the tranny but no spots. The oil had a tiny drip in the garage where she was parked about the size of a quarter over a few weeks.

The paint has metallic flecks which I hope will shine when it gets buffed out. I hope, I hope!!

Yep, OP, the cord is for a CB that's mounted above the head. It doesn't work as of yet, but I haven't gone through all the fuses. Would be great if she works. ;)

Gary, the 'glovebox' is in the middle console.. and came with a nice amount of good tools in her, yay! :D

Drove her all around town yesterday, drives better than my car. :) She got quite a few second looks. It was cute, was almost into town and saw some dude walking back from his mailbox, saw him do a double-take, stare, then he threw up his arm and kept it up while he kept walking, it was great haha! Some fans out there, it seems.

Gotta get the drivers window fixed today, then little things here and there as funds allow. Got a radio thanks to dad.. gotta love daddy when he keeps things sitting around in case someone needs them, now just gotta expand the insert placement to fit the bigger free alpine stereo. Way dark tint will be as soon as possible. Much needed oilings of hinges will be taken care of today. Possibly some removal of seats today, it's good to know people with shops and tools that also pitch in help. There's some play in the steering that dad has pinpointed, will need to be taken care of

As a side note, my mom is already harping to 'just throw some things in it and let's go camping!!!' hahaha.... Soon, mom, soon. :)

That's all for now. Pammy out. ;)

Theadyn  I was wrong before, only 71k miles on her, she's not even broken in, yet.

71K on a 1983? They didn't drive it much, did they? ;)
Take your mom camping! That should be a good way to break it in. ;)

Miss Theadyn, I am beyond happy for you. You deserve to get a good deal with all you've gone through. Hopefully you and I can get ba k to traveling and we'll bump into each other out there on the road someplace.

Building it out how you like it is the best part.. and the best kind of therapy in my book.

Not to be a kill-joy.. but if it only has 71k I would be very surprised..
the Odo only has 5 digits.. so the sellers claim may or may not be actual...

go over all the rubber/hoses/seals/gaskets. At that age.. they need it.
And that era was all about vacuum lines and such.

And gosh- he's pretty.. My first thought was to name it Starbuck.. (like the coffee and the Original Battlestar Galactica series character)
I'm jealous!
