Ensenada Mexico is undergoing a huge remake by the Chinese. Harbor, docks etc. There is railroad tracks from there to Quartzsite, where Walmart, Big Lots, Dollar Stores and who knows how many others own large tracts of land where they will develop warehouse/shipping centers. Winter in Q and work short time for these outfits.

Can you link to something about this for us? Haven't heard of it at all...the only thing I know of is a makeover of the La Bufadora area....for tourism...

I was just through there twice this winter and saw nothing of the kind....

Bri

Bk Here's one, I didn't save any others but I'll find them.

                  http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/viewpoints/articles/2010/02/26/20100226kolbe-border.html

Punta Colonet is just south of Ensenada, that's where the activity is going on.
Thanks Owl, I just read it and linked to another page about it.... Interesting! It would sure be a game changer for CA...wow....

I usually keep a bit of an eye on the BajaNomads.com forum and didn't and don't see anything about it on there...that makes me think it is still a ways away....lots of expats live in that area and I think they would be talking about it a lot if it was imminent.
Bri

Gamechanger in what respect? Under our current government we aren't in the game! California is no longer a leader in the world, but an example of why socialism fails.

I was referring to that most of the Chinese Walmart crap comes through CA right now along with all the dock fees, etc. If what is proposed in Ensenada happens.....a very big "if" in my view, being pretty familiar with Mexico and how things happen there... much of that income won't be available to CA....

Bri

bk, you are right, even the chinese want nothing to do with California. Ironic that communists don't want to deal with the mess in this state!

Thanks for the heads up but I don't have any problems with it....seems to be fine. I have a pretty good firewall....My safeguards don't give warnings about it.
bri

I don't think being a Communist nation has anything to do with it...it is just business and they are pretty good at it....
Bri
