Found this on the Hudson Valley Craig's List while searching for a truck cap.  Interesting idea.

it is interesting but wonder how much that weighs? I've seen some insert kits for the European market that have fold-able kitchens and such -- they seem to use a high-tech plastic to stay light.

My family had something similar to this, that fit in an 1980's Toyota pickup truck with a camper shell. It didn't have table though. It was made with plywood, padding, and tan carpet. It had storage and cup holder places. I would sleep in it on the weekends. Very comfy.  I should have kept it. I traded it in with the truck when I bought another Toyota pickup in 1995.

For some strange reason, a much different image pops into my head when I think of D&D. :p

On a slightly more serious note, a system like the one pictured above presumes that you have the ability to store it when it's not in use. I don't know about the rest of you, but I certainly don't.

Back in the '80s I built a similar systems for a few different trucks. usually no table though as the toppers were cab height so you couldn't sit up all the way anyhow. We usually left them in all the time. It was just a way of storing tools etc on the sides and keeping the center open for cargo. Then on the weekend you could set the center board up on rails and have a full width bed. They were very popular on the west coast back then, both home made and professionally built.

I think a lot of us built stuff like that. I did it in a 1987 Mitsubishi pickup and my buddy had one in his 1994 Nissan 720.
