I'm currently in the midwest,  Minnesota visiting family, I came from Alabama, and will be heading west, probably in August,  currently living in my car, looking to upgrade to a van at some point. I'm a single female looking to meet up with others to help all I can and learn the ropes of my new life!

Hello Kitten, and welcome!

If you are heading west in August, I would suggest you stick to the PNW (Pacific North West) through September to avoid the heat of the southwest. Washington, Oregon, northern California and Nevada all have amazing places to visit, and will be 20-30 degrees cooler than southern Nevada and Arizona. August in the southwest can often have 20+ days over 100, and from Vegas south it will often be over 110 for 10+ days.

Wherever your trail leads you, I hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for the sound advice! I've been thinking on Colorado then working my way south into Arizona as fall progresses into winter. Definitely not set in stone, but that's what I'm currently thinking.
I'm looking for people to meet up with to learn, grow and help along the way...
Safe travels to you and yours!
Thanks again

Welcome Kitten to the CRVL forums! Colorado is a good place to head to although almost anywhere in the Rockies will be cooler than where you are. To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

 will be heading west,
Hello and welcome to the forum, :). Besides what jerry mentioned, remember that once you get west of the Dakotas, it's mountains all around in every direction, and it's always cool at the higher elevations above 5,000' or so. Good luck and stay safe.

Welcome Kitten. Nothing to add to others comments but to say enjoy. All the best to ya.
