Hello all,

A pretty dramatic change in circumstances has afforded me a period of time with little responsibilities.
I'll soon hit the road in a rather unconventional rig.

I'm a vintage Land Rover buff.
Tow rig is a 1962 Land Rover 109 pickup. Heavily modified with injected Chevy V6, 5 speed, power brakes, power steering, air bag suspension etc. If you're interested you can watch the lengthy story of it's build up at. http://www.youtube.com/user/RiverportRovers
Coach is 1973 24' Argosy, Argosy's are Airstreams, but painted. Hello Tony and Karen,

No, but I'm going to completely gut it and start over.
I'll shoot some pics before I do.

Thanks for the welcome.

Peter

Hi Peter:

I'm a relative newbie to this site in the past couple of months, from Oshawa, Ontario. I'll look forward to following you and Geordie on YouTube!

Hi investigator77,

I'm very new here as well.
Thanks for saying Hi.
We can't wait to get on the road.

Peter

There is another person from the Maritimes as well on here!
Howdy and love the Truck that is a sweet looking ride, although the parts must be hard to source?

Hi to Peter and his Golden Doodle, Welcome here, I've only been a member for a few days, but a member on Vandwellers yahoo group for much longer.
Love that, Golden Doodle, she/he's pretty. I like those mixes. Unusual. Looks to be a love.
I really like the 62 Land Rover!! Is is hard to find parts for? Does it nickel and dime you?? The trailer is pretty nice too, yes, please do post before and after pics. I will be following along. That will be pretty cool to watch the progress.

welcome from s.w. florida .... blkjak

Thanks for the welcome all!

Yes it's a great truck, parts are cheap and easily available online.
But much cheaper if I bring them in from the UK.
But then I'm waiting, so I keep a lot of spares with me on the road.

The engine and transmission are Chevy, so that stuff is a breeze.

Will be starting the buildout soon, starting with repainting the exterior to match the Rover.

Cheers
Peter and Geordie.

Hiya Peter!! Whadda great rig you've got there!

I drove a 1950 Chevy Panel Truck for many years, so I've got a thing for these older trucks.

I 'm with ya on parts availability too. I rode a 1946 Harley for 18 years, and once you find your parts sources, then it's no problem finding anything you need (provided the price is right!!) I know alotta guys who drive strange exotic collector cars on a daily basis, and there agin, have found the parts stashes for anything they need. (and these guys drive some very rare stuff!!)

Can't wait to follow your travel log, and see the progress on the Argosy. (no polishing!!!!)

Thanks Patrick,

Yes good solid old trucks can be very reliable and economical.

Cheers
