Hello from Northern Alberta

Hello Guys and Gals!

My name is Andre, and I'm up in Northern Alberta where it gets
real cold in the winter!

Anyway, I joined the forum last week or so and have been doing
a lot of reading on this site.

Makes me wish I was a lot further south as it simplifies a lot
of things, but then again, maybe it adds complications! LoL

I started an extreme cold van conversion last summer, and am
getting ready to move into it at the end of March.

This summer I plan on doing a cargo trailer conversion, I am
just waiting to find the right used trailer, so the van is
hopefully only temporary!

I'm far from retirement, but over a half century in the making!

I guess that's all for now, looking forward to many discussions
throughout the forum.

Northern Alberta? So how cold has it been getting? I'm in southern Michigan and it's too cold here!

Welcome to the CRVL forums,Andre! It's plenty cold enough, in Massachusetts. I don't envy you being even further north.

Welcome to the forum.

Well, I must say it has been rather warm lately, which is more the exception rather than the rule.
It was a balmy +8C yesterday, whereas it is usually in the minus 20's C and -30's C

Funny thing is my area has been spared much of the cold this year and last. They call it the Polar Vortex around here, and it is what's bringing all the cold arctic air down over the middle of North America all the way south. We are on the very edge of it here out west and so get huge temperature fluctuations as it ebbs and flows over us, kinda like waves on the shore.

From watching news reports, it appears you guys are probably worse off than me weather wise!
