Just saying hi. I'm In Missouri and I'm in the process of selling all of my lifes junk right now and will be getting a van when I sell my low mileage car. I may put some stuff in storage as I probably won't be able to sell everything fast enough. 
Anyway, I'll be in the solar and how to get domiciled forums asking questions. Any tips appreciated!'

I would encourage you (when you have the time) to read as many of the threads as possible, even ones where the main subject doesn't seem to apply to your situation. These forums are chock full of information, and I've found great ideas all over when I wasn't really actively seeking an answer to a specific problem (especially in the captains logs section, but everywhere really). Generous people share their experiences so that others can learn. It's kind of an amazing thing.

I just came from St. Louis. It's one of my favorite places in the country (except for the winter weather).

I like Missouri, but I'm tired of the heat and humidity during the summer. I'm looking forward to getting some elevation this summer and enjoying some cooler and less humid air for a change. I'd really like to enjoy summer instead of being miserable in it!

You're gonna have a ton of fun.
In my experience, the best place to summer in the country is Sedona Arizona.
Actually, in terms of weather, it's about the perfect elevation year round.

Last time I was there, we had one day of miserable weather the whole year.

Rest of time was marvelous.

Also, there's a really diverse group of nomads in the area. Everyone from hippie kids to caravans of older people, to the crazy travelling types looking for enlightenment (my personal favorite group). And there's probably some overlap all three ways.

That would be my pick.
I'm trying to make it back there one of these days.

Must be lots of BLM land in the area to stay there year around??

Lots of national parks. Used to stay at this place called Stage Stop, but I heard they closed it to camping. Plenty of other places in the area though. It's a lot of forest and grazing land. Weirdly large cows everywhere. The one thing people are big on in area is the spiritual angle. Drum circles on the full moon, crystal stuff, pot, astrology. Everybody's always doing spirit walks. Don't do the spirit walk. It ain't worth it.
