I've been following Bob's blog for many years now and finally decided to join the forum.

In the fall of 2007 I was visiting a friend in southern California and was planning a several week stay. As luck would have it, only a couple days after arriving there, my friend had to evacuate her house due to the fires at the time, cutting short my visit. (Happily, her house was spared). Having the next several weeks free and clear, I decided to mosey my way back home to Seattle by visiting every National Park I'd never been to, which was most of them. I didn't have any camping gear and had to stay in motels, but I did a lot of hiking and talked to a lot of people staying in the campgrounds and by the time I got home I had the bug! I sold my old Ford and bought a used 4Runner and then a few weeks later found a used Chalet LTW folding A-frame trailer. I had never had a 4x4 before and never towed a trailer, but by early February 2008 I was camping in the rain forest on the Washington state coast! Since then I have lived about 2 of the past 8 years in my trailer in 4-5 week chunks. I love to boondock! I'm making plans to increase my time on the road and also I am considering changing my rig up.

I look forward to participating in the discussions here, and who knows, maybe our paths will cross someday!

Sounds like a great setup! Those a-frame trailers look great. What are some of your favorite places you've been to in the past 8 years?

Thanks for welcome, everyone!

SUV_RVing, to answer your question about my favorite places, I guess I'd have to say anyplace in southern Utah is automatically a favorite. Bridges National Monument and Capitol Reef National Park in particular!
