Thought I'd say hi, tell you a little about me.

Currently I live in a converted bus (altho quite stationary at the moment) with my husband and 10 year old son. Finances sort of thrust our living situation upon us, but I was more than happy to it considering I've always been pretty unconventional and my idea of the American dream never consisted of owning a stix and brix.

Over the next few years I'll be trying to coax my husband into van dwelling when our son turns about 18.

They say a child who travels and experiences different situations has higher intelligence. Why wait?

And...Welcome to the boards!

Thanks!

There are a multitude of reasons why we aren't able to be on the road at the moment. I really think it would do wonders for my son to be out there. We'll hit the road as soon as we're able.

Welcome dfh. The bus dwelling would really take on a whole new meaning if it could move. Even if your family could go away for vacations and weekends, you would surely enjoy it! We're sure glad you found us. Lots of people to help if you have any questions.

Welcome aboard,
Sounds like you could probably teach us a thing or two. No?

gus

Thanks again guys! Really glad I found the site and can't wait till the day I convince my husband to downsize to a van. I do enjoy the bus, but its still more than I'd like to own. Once I started purging all my stuff, I found it was quite easy to keep getting rid of more. I know now that I don't need many things at all.

Welcome! While traveling is the most appealing part of RV living, it's not the only part. Simplicity of living is a big part of it, too. One becomes very aware of how much extraneous 'stuff' we all have and how it complicates our lives. God bless you and your family in your new lifestyle.
Hi & Welcome dfh ... sorry to learn of the circumstances that put you there but glad to have you with us!

We've been really researching homeschooling/unschooling. Your story is just one more positive experience that I've heard about it. This is definitely the route we'll be taking when we are able to get rolling.

welcome dfh, glad you found us and glad to have the three of you in the tribe...
Bri
