I doubt the shop would install tint on the windshield. Maybe a strip near the top edge?
As mentioned, know the laws on tinted windows in the states you'll be driving.

FWIW, Auto glass is generally UV Blocking. To prevent premature fading of interiors, plastics etc.

Im talking about the very top edge. Yes, the laws do vary by state. I guess I should have been more specific.
 
I watched the video as well.. they have a virtually tint-free heat blocking 'tint' specifically for the windshield. No obstruction of visibility or light.. just kind of like the old polarization effect.. kind of.

And the added bonus- during an accident.. perhaps less flying glass?
