I usually check weather for the location I going but forecast are not always accurate and less for days in advance.

I do carry a weather radio but there are places that do not get signal.

I traveling and camping on a SUV.

There have been couple of times got a hotel room but also there have been couple of times that was out in the boonies ;) and almost soiled my underwear..lol

That said, how do you all nomads handle hazardows weather such and damaging winds, thunderstorms, hail?

Is there some sort of radio that can get satellite weather radar images? That can give us an idea of the storm patter when no cel signal.

Don'cha just love fat finger typing.

Having a cell booster, I am seldom out of cell range.  I have an app on my iPhone that gives me NOAA weather alerts for the area I am in.  If for some reason I am out of cell range I have an inReach SE (personal emergency beacon) that I can request a forecast for my location from which will include alerts.

I had a windup\solar\battery operated weather radio that pretty much always got a signal(had to hunt for it sometimes) and was excellent for bad weather. Gave it away a few weeks ago to a guy more in need of it than me. Going to replace it though because it was a great lil radio.

As to riding out bad weather, I stay as safe as I can, and then just let fate decide if its gonna be a horrible day. Few close calls with tornadoes and having to repair\replace equipment, but no super bad days yet.

I use the NOAA app as well and is very helpful when having cel signal...

That beacon, what is the name of it or website?

Thx :)

After a while I learned what the sky and temperature changes are telling me is on the way. And after a while I learned which regions to avoid at which seasons.
