My name is Mary and I'm currently in Deland, Florida. Retired, but working a bit here and there. I'm what's known as an "old hippie". I never really grew up from my 60's life. I love music festivals, these days not only enjoying the music but also the young people there. I've seen Dylan well over one hundred times since 1965 and always looking forward to his next show. I've traveled all over the USA, Canada and Europe with like minded friends just to see his shows. I can't imagine a day without music.

I've been off the road for about 6 years; every day wanting so much to be back on it. I'm a kind of gypsy by nature. I thought it would be a while before I could get back into a van, but a gift from a kind friend gave me a jump start that will get me what I need to make my dream of life on the road again come true. Today is lots of coffee and research, looking for a van and paying attention to all advice I see and receive. Thank you! I'm a minimalist, I travel lightly; it's the simple life that's the best life.

I have two purebred Siamese cats, Sam and Mia, that I rescued at the very last minute from certain death, and one crabby but sweet Ragdoll, Jazz Kitty, who was also in a dire situation. They go with me everywhere.

Quartzsite in January 2015. :)

Welcome to the CRVL forums, Marie! I'm glad you found us! It sounds as if you may already have family, everywhere. Hoping to see you in Q!

Welcome!! Hope you find your new freedom-mobile soon. :)

Welcome Marie! Hope you get rolling again soon.

My wife and I are headed your way to the little condo we just bought in NSB next May. She is going to telecommute and I'll find some sort of job, we're 54 and 55 so we'll work a little bit more then call it done. The idea is to keep the paid for cheapy home base and head off in a van to wander the country for long stretches. It's a compromise keeping the condo but, like you, I'm a gypsy... my honey, not as much. :D

Welcome, Sweet Marie! You look an awful lot like Peppermint Patty! :D

Thanks everyone, for the kind welcome! It's van shopping right now, on a budget that's challenging, but no doubt I'll find exactly what I need very soon and be well on my way clocking the miles and the smiles and making new friends. I've always been a wanderer, but as Tolkien says in his poem, "Not all who wander are lost." That's for sure... there are so many interesting and helpful folks on this forum; I've found that out in just a couple of days here.

Many thanks to Bob for this wonderful website! :)
